NEW RELEASE!!
Gamay 2008
SOLD OUT This wine is a delicious expression of the gamay grape and the Similkameen terroir. Grown in a small vineyard about a five minute walk from the winery, this release is limited to a tiny amount of 70 cases. We gently destem the grapes and ferment them in small bin fermenters, leaving many whole berries intact to encourage a little bit of carbonic fermentation inside the berries. From there, the wine is gently pressed and sent to tank to undergo malolactic fermentation. We then aged the wine for a short period of 3 months in older barrels. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
This wine is all about the fruit. Think Cru Beaujoulais. Bright, intense aromas and flavours of crushed raspberries and strawberry jam mixed with a little white pepper. It is soft on the palate making it very versatile. It can be chilled slightly and served on its own or pair this with savoury poultry dishes. Perfect with Thanksgiving turkey.

"The first time I tasted this wine at the winery in Keremeos, I slapped a card on the table and bought a box. Now, it’s not for every palate, being edgy and very tart, but it’s full of fruit and shows an absolutely fabulous finish. For food, for sure. It’ll have to arm-wrestle the next one (Fairview Cellars) for “best of B.C.’s Sauvignons” status." Jurgen Gothe, The Georgia Straight, September 3rd, 2009
