Almost 6 years ago we chose a French oak barrel full of our very own Petit Verdot for the base of this inaugural Orofino Vermouth. We then distilled some of our Riesling and used that to steep some locally foraged and traditional vermouth botanicals. This was then used to fortify the wine in barrel. It was left to integrate and age for a further 16 months before being labeled and bottled by hand.
This vermouth shows lovely herbaceous and typical medicinal notes on the nose. A rather full bodied version due to the deep and dark Petit Verdot wine used as a base. To be served over ice with an orange twist or maybe, at its best, as a component to the classic Negroni cocktail. Only 425 bottles produced.
