This small production wine gets more attention from wine writers than anything else we make. Why? It’s juicy, fresh, highly gulpable and tastes like the vineyards here in Cawston where it was grown. It’s the real deal.
Pinot Noir seems to like our site here on the Cawston bench. We blend 5 clones of Pinot Noir from various blocks of vines planted as far back as 1989. This is a wine that is truly made in the vineyard. No messing around, no fining and no filtration. Sometimes less is more.
Geeky wine alert! This one’s a game changer for us. Lively, complex, and juicy aromas and flavours jump out of the glass. It was aged in a locally made concrete tank. Minimal intervention winemaking throughout the process. Soft tannins and a slight spritz contribute to its appeal.
Aged 16 months in mostly older French oak barrels, look for classic savoury, meaty notes with a dash of pepper. Supple tannins and a sexy finish bring it all home. Wild fermented. Unfined and unfiltered.
This is a classic blend from Orofino that has a strong following every vintage. The name is a nod to a local landmark bridge that crosses the Similkameen River. Soft tannins and notes of black cherry and licorice. 42% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Syrah. Juicy and approachable and just straight up delicious.
This vineyard was formerly a commercial gravel pit that doubled up as the local make-out spot for young lovers. I could use descriptors like luscious, spicy, juicy, sexy and lip-smacking to describe this gorgeous cabernet but that would be too easy.
Built for comfort, not for speed, this ode to Bordeaux is one for the cellar. Rich black fruits mixed with spicy notes and classic Similkameen minerality. Our best barrels make up the blend. Always unfined and unfiltered to best show off our terroir.
